# Hosn Obe — Schwimmen / 31 / Knack online card game

> Hosn Obe is the free online and offline version of the classic card game **Schwimmen** — also known as **31, Knack, Schnauz, Schwimmen, Hosn Obe, Blitz, Scat, Thirty-One**. Play live against real opponents worldwide or offline against the computer, on iOS and Android. Made by DonkeyCat GmbH (Vienna, Austria).

## What it is
- **Game:** Schwimmen / 31 — a German-language card-game classic. Common names: Schwimmen, 31, Knack, Schnauz, Hosn Obe, Blitz, Scat, Thirty-One, Cadillac, Whammy.
- **Goal:** With three cards of the same suit, score as close to 31 points as possible. Cards: face cards = 10, ace = 11; three of a kind = 30.5; three aces ("Feuer") = 33. Lowest score each round loses a life; the last player with a life wins.
- **Players:** 2–4. **Deck:** 32 cards. Each player has 3 cards and 3 lives.
- **Moves each turn:** swap one card with the middle, swap all three, pass ("knock"/close the round), or take a fresh hand.
- **Modes:** online multiplayer (public rooms + private rooms with friends), solo vs. AI, daily/weekly/monthly tournaments, leaderboards, in-game chat.

## How to play Schwimmen / 31 (rules)
On your turn, improve your three same-suit cards toward 31 points by exchanging cards with the three face-up cards in the middle — swap one, or swap your whole hand. When you think you have a safe hand, "knock" to close the round; everyone else gets one more turn, then hands are compared and the lowest score loses a life. Reaching exactly 31, or holding three of a kind, is the strongest hand. Full illustrated rules ("Spielregeln") are on the official site.
